Do shapewear work?

Many women consider its presence to be their lucky star, and dare we say many of them are proud to wear it. Of course, we're talking shapewear! "Shapewear" refers to a line of stretchy underwear that shapes and slims a woman's body, making her appear slimmer. This can also be done so that she can easily fit into a dress or jeans a size or two smaller than her.

Shapewear manufacturers work almost 100% of the time. This is especially true when they're seamlessly woven like pantyhose. The seamless shapewear is precisely engineered to enhance curves.

It should be noted, however, that garments made from panels sewn together also trim figures in their own way. Shapewear makes us look slimmer because the stiff and/or stretchy fabrics grip and hold the body in a flattering way. Basically, it tightens areas of the body where fat tends to accumulate and looks particularly unattractive.

This fat is then pushed where it is actually needed. For example, shapewear that narrows the waist and flattens the tummy area is designed to push excess volume up toward the bust rather than down toward the thighs, hips, and butt. This gives women the lovely hourglass shape that many crave.

And, when worn properly, shapewear like these can even improve one's posture! There are also some types of shapewear that simply compress fat pockets to create a slimmer figure. Simply push the slack in and you can easily see an immediate 1 to 2 inch reduction in the areas you're wearing this type of clothing. So basically, the fat is either pushed in a directed way to a more ideal location, like your cleavage or buttocks, or it's compressed onto your body.

That's why finding the right weight loss products is crucial. If a garment is too light, the baggy section can be pushed out over the waistband of skirts, shorts, and trousers. No one wants "muffin tops", so be careful.

Additionally, fat is pushed to places where muscles are stressed, such as the abs. It's not an attractive look either. Remember, if your shapewear fits you well, you should look sleeker and smoother than before you put it on.

And, having a noticeably better physique should give you more confidence.
